Original publisher's green cloth gilt, with the titles in gilt to the spine and a gilt jellyfish on frontboard, 8vo., frontispiece, title, pp. xiii, 1, 443, (1), 2 (ads). Binder's ticket of Edmonds & Remnants on rear end-pastedown. Stamp of Museum of Science and Arts at top of title page, with over that a stamp "cancelled" and the letters Gj.b. in ink. Further a clean copy.
Two pages with small marginal tears and the full page plate opposite page 195 working loose at the bottom, but still very solidly attached. Head and tail of spine, as well as corners bumped and the extremities rubbed.
Despite the flaws definitely a collectible copy with the gilt on the spine still bright and on the frontboard very bright. The paper uncut. Illustrated with a frontispiece, two full page plates h.t. and seven engravings in the text.
