Original blindstamped cloth, oblong folio. A steel engraved title page and 30 steelengravings of places and sites around Salzburg in Austria drawm by Georg Pezok, printed on India paper mounted on thick card stock. All plates protected by the original tissue guards.
The extremities of the boards a bit rubbed, spine sunfaded and the title page foxed. Occasionally some very light foxing on the plate mounts, the plates themselves, however, overall very clean.
Obviously this is a very peculiar book in the sense that no copy seems to be exactly the same. Most of the few known copies (WorldCat only reveals two copies and the nr. of auction records is very limited) have 30 engravings, but no copy has exactly the same 30 plates. Quite obviously several more plates have been printed, however, only the copy in the Kunstbibliothek of the Staatliche Museen in Berlin has 34 plates, while other copies with more than 30 plates are unknown. Hence we list here below the complete list of the captions as they appear in our copy.
