A striking beautiful early Art Nouveau binding. Pebbled cloth with blindstamped covers, 8vo., pp. iv, 33, 1, 2 (ads), panorama. The frontcover decorated in black and with the alternative title "Führer auf den Monte Baldo" in gilt. Illustrated with a full page plate and a large folding panorama of 615 mm long, showing Lake Garda and the Monte Baldo.

A magnificent small tome, 175 x 112 x 5 mm, in green pebbled cloth with a bright gilt title, the whole in an absolutely fine condition. A splendid copy of an extremely rare book with only 6 copies ** in WorldCat and no auction records in ABPC or RBH.

The only flaw is a handwritten name on the preliminary blank.

It was written by Johannes Frischauf, born in 1837 in Vienna, where he studied amongst others mathematics and physics, and who died at Graz in 1924 where he had taught mathematics at the university there.
Moreover he was a keen alpinist and promoted alpinism.
